LANCASTER—Keith Kidd, vice chairman of the Lancaster County Broadband Authority, told supervisors that despite “some issues going through the Town of Kilmarnock,” the All Points Broadband (APB) project remains on schedule and is expected to be completed by mid-year.
During a February 29 presentation, Kidd said the plan was to “go through Main Street, using the pipes that Dominion had already in place. The town didn’t like that idea since it was going to disrupt traffic and business.” APB has developed a plan to reroute lines down Church Street instead.
In the westernmost part of the county, the region between the Rappahannock and Corrotoman Rivers is complete and is expected to start servicing customers soon.
An event to celebrate the milestone is being planned, but no date….
