
The Northern Neck Sail & Power Squadron on January 27 will conduct two seminars at the Chesapeake Commons Classroom, 453C North Main Street, Kilmarnock.
“A cold winter’s day is an excellent opportunity to meet new friends and learn new things,” said public relations coordinator Keith Kidd.
Partner in Command will be offered from 10 a.m.-noon. Participants will receive instruction in:
• Communications, including VHF marine radio.
• Calling for help.
• Signaling equipment.
• Safety and safety equipment.
• First aid.
• Starting and running the engine.
• Tool kits.
Emergencies On Board will be offered from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Participants will receive instruction in:
• Vessel-related emergencies.
• Medical emergencies.
• Emergency communications.
