Members of Kilmarnock American Legion Post 86 and Unit 86 Auxiliary will distribute poppies from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, May 26, at Tri-Star Supermarket, 81 Irvington Road, Kilmarnock. The poppy is a symbol of remembrance, honoring veterans.
The Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department on June 3 will present 2023 Pig Pickin’ on the Point at Buzzards Point Marina, 468 Buzzard Point Road, Reedville. Tickets are $50 for adults, $20 for ages 8-12, free for those younger than 8. The Northern Neck Master Gardeners Shoreline Evaluation Program will offer “Shoreline Basics: 10 Essentials Every Waterfront Homeowner Needs to Know” at 2 p.m. June 9 at the Helen and Tayloe Murphy Hall, Westmoreland State Park, 145 Cliff Road, Montross; and 2 p.m. June 15 at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.
