Appreciation picnic
Gleamers and Blenders will hold an appreciation picnic for donors who have contributed throughout the year. The picnic will be held from noon -1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at 16097 Northumberland Highway, Burgess.
Gleamers expects between 40-45 donors in addition to their 16 volunteers.
Chicken dinners
Chicken dinners will be available from 5-6:30 p.m. on first Mondays at American Legion Post #117, 39 School Street, Reedville. Meals include fried chicken, mashed potatoes, choice of vegetables, salad, roll, dessert and drink.
Dinners are $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 and younger, at the door.
Courtyard dedication
The Essex County Museum, 218 Water Lane, Tappahannock, will host a community-wide celebration from 3-5 p.m. June 12 in the new Max Silver Memorial Courtyard.
The celebration will commemorate the opening of the museum’s new venue that honors Silver.
