Seafood dinners

The Northumberland County Community Center Organization Inc., 679 Browns Store Road, Heathsville, will serve seafood dinners from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, June 17. To place an order, call Jim Long at 724-3240.

The menu includes crab cake dinner, $15; fish dinner, $12; combo dinner, $16; crab cake sandwich, $8.50; fish sandwich, $7.50.

Museum hours

The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum will be open from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays through Labor Day.

A new exhibit, “Then and Now—Intrepid Boats of the Chesapeake,” documents the history of Chesapeake watercraft from 1608 to the present.

Chamberfest

The Northern Neck Orchestra will host the Northern Neck Chamberfest June 21 to June 26. Chamberfest will feature chamber music concerts at 7 p.m. June 24 at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main Street, Kilmarnock; and 2 p.m. June 26 at Good Luck Cellars, 1025 Goodluck Road, Kilmarnock.

Tickets for “Bach to Beatles” are $30 and may be purchased at www.northernneckorchestra.org or at the check-in desk. Students are admitted at no charge.

Irvington 4th

Holiday weekend activities in Irvington will begin on July 2 with the Irvington Farmers Market from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and a free concert by the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band on the Irvington Commons at 7 p.m.

The Independence Day Hometown Parade will begin at 3 p.m. July 3 on King Carter Drive, Irvington.

Organ concert

The Wonder at Ware music series will continue at 7 p.m. June 25 with an organ concert by Weston Jennings at Ware Episcopal Church, 7825 John Clayton Memorial Highway, Gloucester.

Jennings will perform, on the Cassavant Freres pipe organ, works by Mendelssohn, Kirtel and Bellman.

Chicken dinners

Chicken dinners will be available from 5-6:30 p.m. on first Mondays at American Legion Post #117, 39 School Street, Reedville. Meals include fried chicken, mashed potatoes, choice of vegetables, salad, roll, dessert and drink. 

Dinners are $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 and younger, at the door.

Poker Run

Registration is underway for the Northern Neck Rotary Club’s second Poker Run on the Water July 16. There will be seven checkpoints along the Rappahannock River.

Top prize is $5,000. The entry fee is $500 per boat. Sponsorships are available. Visit www.nnrotary.com, or contact [email protected].

Community socials

Sewlovelee and Irvington Baptist Church offer an open maker space on first and fourth Tuesdays at the church, 53 King Carter Drive, Irvington. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Quilters, sewers and other crafters are invited to craft and chat.

Reservations are required at https://bit.ly/sewloveleesewcial, or 438-5800. A small fee collected is donated to the church for use of the space.

Summer camps

Chesapeake Academy Summer Camps 2022 will offer weekly Camp Chesapeake sessions June 20 through July 24. Camp Chesapeake is for rising second through eighth grades. Hours vary.

Weekly Camp Irvington sessions will be held June 20 through August 5 for ages 4 through rising first grade. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
