Viewings slated for documentary on historic Northern Neck churches

Yeocomico Church in Westmoreland County is the Northern Neck’s oldest church and is said to be the ninth oldest in the U.S.

In addition to Historic Christ Church in Weems, several Northern Neck churches and church buildings were established and built before the 20th century. A related documentary, “Historic Churches of the Northern Neck,” a joint venture of the Kilmarnock Museum and 26th Street Media of Richmond, tells the story of many of them, including Yeocomico Church in Westmoreland County and Lancaster County’s St. Marys White Chapel Episcopal, both of which began in the 17th century.

The one-hour documentary will be screened at Compass Cinema 6, Compass Entertainment Complex, 100 Entertainment Drive, Irvington. The two confirmed viewings are 3 p.m. May 15 at 7 p.m. May 20. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at….
