Tartans are blessed
Congregants gathered Sunday, April 6, as the Rev. Kimberly B. Glenn, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, offered the blessing of the tartans at the annual Kirkin’ of the Tartan at Historic Christ Church in Weems. The ceremony is a celebration of Scottish heritage with a blessing of family tartans and the families. It has been a Scottish American tradition in the U.S. since 1941.
