The Wells Fargo Advisors Invitational baseball and softball tournament will begin today, April 5, at Dream Fields, 1385 Irvington Road, Kilmarnock.
Some 23 high school junior varsity and varsity teams were scheduled to play 21 games, according to tournament director and Lancaster High School baseball coach Welby Saunders.
However, due to inclement weather forecasted for the weekend, Saunders indicated Wednesday morning that he was adjusting the schedule to squeeze the three-day tournament possibly into two days.
The adjusted schedule had not been finalized by press time. However, it will be posted at RRecord.com.
Participating schools were to include host Lancaster, Northumberland, Mathews, Washington & Lee, King William, Middlesex, Richmond County, St. Margaret’s and Greenbriar Christian.
Lancaster’s JV and varsity baseball teams will play in games tonight against Mathews.
