It was an All-Region A state championship as Westmoreland and Northampton both advanced to the Class 1 boys soccer final in Salem on June 10.
In a rematch of the regional final, the Eagles and Yellow Jackets met for the state title on Spartan Field when the outcome was the same. The Yellow Jackets beat the Eagles, 4-1, to claim the state title. Northampton had beat Westmoreland, 3-1, a week earlier in the Region 1A championship.
As expected, Westmoreland and Northampton dominated the All-Region A team, capturing 10 of the 16 spots on the first team.
