White Stone council reviews plans for business district improvements

WHITE STONE—Within the next two years, White Stone’s business district should look a lot different, thanks to a $1 million Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

After several years of housing rehabilitation and work on the town’s public sewer system as part of a Phase I development plan, a redo of the commercial area of the town in Phase II should begin soon.

Jerry Davis, executive director of the Northern Neck Planning District Commission last Thursday outlined organizational plans for the project. The first order of business, he told town council, is the selection and appointment of several committees.
