Crowd enjoys craft beer festival at Historic Christ Church & Museum

WEEMS—The fourth annual “Raise the Roof” Craft Beer Fest on July 15 brought close to 500 people to Historic Christ Church & Museum to enjoy craft beers, barbecue, homemade ice cream, blues and jazz.

Guests sampled a dozen mouthwatering Virginia craft beers as well as wines from Ingleside Vineyards. Willaby’s in White Stone provided barbecue or veggie fare and volunteers scooped homemade ice cream from Short Lane in Gloucester, reported education director and curator Robert Teagle.

Participants brought lawn chairs and blankets and enjoyed music by Bobby “Blackhat” Walters and Good Shot Judy. The Bobby “Blackhat” Walters Band opened the show with Walters’ dazzling harmonica playing and guitarist Tom Euler’s sensational riffs.
