REEDVILLE—Shawna Lee Robertson peacefully passed away September 13 after a long fierce battle with cancer.
Shawna was born October 20, 1978, and was just shy of her 39th birthday. She leaves behind her father, Cap. Woody Robertson and his wife, Sharon, of Reedville; her mother, Hervey Lee Woods of Sandston; her son, Vincent Thomas Ferrant of Sandston; and two sisters, Amy Amanda Patterson of Sandston and Cherie Smith Gits, also of Sandston.
Shawna attended elementary school in Reedville through grade 4 and has always expressed her love of Reedville and the Chesapeake Bay.
She was a great athlete. Reedville’s own Ray Ray Rogers coached her childhood softball team. She loved horses and rode competitively. She loved to go fishing with her dad. And, of course, she loved watching her son play baseball.
Her friends describe her as “feisty.” She was a proud and “feisty” cheerleader for her Vincent.
Shawna was so positive, even when going through her battle with cancer, always having faith and believing in God’s will. She will be missed by so many.
Her ashes will be scattered on the Chesapeake Bay right outside of Chesapeake Beach in Reedville that she loved so much.
