30 years and running strong, Rapp River Run 5k marks a Belle Isle State Park milestone

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Belle Isle State Park, the Friends of Belle Isle (FOBI) on Saturday, April 22, sponsored the Rapp River Run 5K. Some 34 participants, plus two dogs, ran or walked the course meandering along park trails, countryside and boardwalks.

Gunnar Marston, 15, of Northumberland was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 19:34. Placing fifth overall, Grace Breitenbeck, 23, of Williamsburg was the first female to finish with a time of 26:09.

“This was a great event,” said chairman Elizabeth Harris….
