Oyster Creek bridge due replacement; meeting June 4 to address construction

WHITE STONE—The Virginia Department of Transportation invites the public to attend a “pardon our dust” meeting to learn more about upcoming construction to replace the Windmill Point Road bridge over Oyster Creek near White Stone.

The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at White Stone Volunteer Fire Department, 579 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone.

Staff from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the project contractor, Kokosing Construction Company Inc., will share information and answer questions, reported VDOT Fredericksburg District communications manager Kelly Hannon.

Construction to replace the bridge is anticipated to begin in July 2026. Crews will first install a temporary….
