Northumberland supervisors reject Bay ordinance exception

HEATHSVILLE—Following a May 14 public hearing on an exception request to the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Area ordinance by Robert Bruechert, supervisors asked for more time to consider and gather additional information. They ultimately decided to deny the request at the Thursday, June 11, meeting.

Bruechert planned to build a 30-foot by 36-foot pole barn entirely within the 100-foot resource protection area (RPA). The property is on the Little Wicomico River in Reedville. Bruechert told supervisors “based on setbacks from sidelines, from utility poles, from every other thing on our property, this is really the only place that we could put this structure.” Bruechert planned to install a dry well to….
