KILMARNOCK—The Town of Kilmarnock recently announced two funding packages for its ongoing upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), a $11.4 million project funded with a $3.15 million loan at 1/2% and another $8.27 million in grants.
Kilmarnock continues to reinvest in its infrastructure for the long term, according to a press release issued by town manager Susan Cockrell.
“The town’s goal is to remain the premier source for water and sewer services in lower Lancaster County,” said Cockrell.
WWTP upgrades have been underway since early 2020, she said. The project is organized in two phases in order to apply for a variety of funding streams.
