Lancaster man sentenced on gun possession charge

LANCASTER—After deliberating less than 30 minutes, a jury on Tuesday, November 1, found David Marquette Green of Lancaster guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Green waived his right to a pre-sentence report and hearing, so Lancaster Circuit Court Judge R. Michael McKenney sentenced him to a mandatory minimum of five years for the firearm possession immediately following the verdict.

The firearm charge stemmed from a July 2, 2021, phone call by Green to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, complaining that someone was on his front porch when he arrived at his River Road home. According to body camera footage from Dep. Logan Fisher who arrived on scene, Green said someone had been in his home and “ransacked” it. However, Dep. Fisher said that while investigating, he found no signs of forced entry….
