Sheriff’s Report

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against two individuals.

Felonies

Nathan Allen Walker, 38, of Kilmarnock, was charged July 29 with malicious wounding.

Molly Jean Kane, 44, of Kilmarnock was charged July 29 with malicious wounding and trespassing after forbidden to do so.

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 44, was charged July 29 with two counts of concealment, price alter merchandise.

A Heathsville woman, 19, was charged July 30 with assault and battery.

A Lancaster woman, 36, was charged August 1 with revocation of bail.

A Lancaster man, 29, was charged August 1 with violating a provision of a family abuse emergency protection order.

A Lancaster man, 50, was charged August 1 with failure to appear in court.

A Lancaster man, 43, was charged August 4 with assault and battery.

Activity report

July 29: Staff responded to Devils Bottom Road for illegal dumping, and to the 200 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a suspicious person.

July 30: Staff responded to the 13000 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic assault, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious person, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person, to River Road to check the welfare of a juvenile in the roadway, to the 100 block of First Street for an altercation possibly involving firearms, to the 2600 block of Irvington Road to assist emergency medical services with an overdose of narcotics, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 200 block of Beach Road for a wanted person.

July 31: Staff responded to the 200 block of Pinckardsville Road for threats made to harm another, to a walk-in report of fraud, to the 200 block of Tabbs Cove Lane for vandalism of two mailboxes, to the 1300 block of Shore Drive for juvenile neglect, and to the 200 block of Pinckardsville Road for a domestic disturbance.

August 1: Staff responded to the 2000 block of Old Salem Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 5200 block of Mary Ball Road for a possible suicidal person, to the 100 block of Lancaster Drive for a hit and run accident on private property, to the 100 block of John Creek Road for the report of trespassers, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a possible suicidal person, and to 1100 Harris Road to assist KPD with a suspicious person.

August 2: Staff responded to the 400 block of Iberis Road for a fight in progress, to the 400 block of Rappahannock Drive for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Ice House Field for trespassers, to the Norris Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 100 block of Willow Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Merry Point Road for a suspicious person, to the 100 block of Whispering Pines Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 100 block of Twin Branch Road for suspicious activity.

August 3: Staff responded to Pony Pasture and Irvington Road for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of Iberis Road for a verbal dispute involving alcohol and weapons, to Norris Bridge for a reckless driver, to Norris Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 100 block of Rocky Neck Road for a tree down in the highway, to the 100 block of Carters Cove Drive for shooting in the area, to the 6500 block of Mary Ball Road for a fallen tree in the roadway,  to Western Branch Road for a tree blocking half of the roadway, to River Road, Kenner Drive, Blueberry Point Road, Mary Ball Road for storm-related damage, to Mary Ball and White Chapel roads for a reckless driver, to Holly Haven Road for fireworks and noise violation, and to the 100 block of Moccasin Trail for shooting in the area.

August 4: Staff responded to a walk-in report of brandishing a firearm at two individuals, to the 700 block of Rappahannock Drive for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1000 block of Griffins Landing Road for a tree down in the roadway, to the 900 block of James Wharf Road for a shooting in the area and to the 3300 block of Irvington Road for four vehicles that struck trees in the roadway.

Staff also conducted 25 traffic stops, issued 20 summonses, assisted seven motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a request for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, received 25 E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm in the 500 block of North Main Street, a power line fire on Goodluck Road, a lift assistance request in the 100 block of Our Way Drive, with White Stone VFD, a woods fire on High Bank Road and a fire/smoke alarm in the 500 block of North Main Street, and with Upper Lancaster VFD to a possible explosion in the 5900 block of Morattico Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash in the 400 block of Rappahannock Drive, an entrapment in a home elevator in the 500 block of Cedar Pointe Drive, a possible brush fire in the 18700 block of Heron Cove, and to several vehicles struck by downed trees in the 3300 block of Irvington Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to utility lines on fire in the 11400 block of Courthouse Road.
