Charles R. “Ray” Burrell

IRVINGTON—Charles Raymond “Ray” Burrell, 87, of Irvington passed away peacefully on Monday, May 3, at his home. He was born April 15, 1934, in Mt. Ayr, Ind., to Charles H. and Julia.

Ray was a graduate of Purdue University, served the country in the Air Force, and was a retired employee of AT&T.

Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Harper Burrell, and his first wife, Mary Jane Camerer, as well as by his parents and a brother, Donald Lee.

He is survived by his sister, Marcy Teany of West Lafayette, Ind., and his six children, Charles R. Jr., of Oxnard, Calif.; Terri Haynes of Prescott, Ariz.; Lisa Spencer of Green Valley, Ariz; John of Olive Branch, Miss.; Thomas of Springfield; and Stephen of Irvington. 

Other survivors include nine grandchildren, Holly, Christopher, Cheyenne, Annie, Abby, William, Lucas, Sammy and Grayson. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Samantha, Madeline, Penelope, Genvieve, Emma, Carter, Nova, Westyn and Dorothy. 

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s or the National Rifle Association.
