Claudia W. McKeon

CALHOUN, GA—Claudia Worrell McKeon, 67, of Calhoun, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at AdventHealth Gordon.

Claudia was born on July 11, 1957, in Richmond, the daughter of the late adopted parents Richard Henry Worrell and Esma Lee Bradshaw and birth parents Claudius William Griffin and Anne-Marie Worrell. She was a member of Ellijay First United Methodist Church where she served as the church organist.

Claudia is survived by her husband, Kenneth Robert “Ken” McKeon; two children, Amy Lee Smitty and Alex William (wife, Meredith) Jarvis; Ken’s children, Katherine “Kate” McKeon Longest and Alison Brooks McKeon; grandchildren, Jackson Jarvis Smitty, Jones William Jarvis, Archie Thomas Jarvis, and Tilly James Jarvis; Ken’s grandchildren, Savannah Grace Longest, Elijah Gabriel Longest, Noah Bradley Ortiz, Dominic Jaxon Kennedy, Julian West Kennedy and Rex Picoli Zascha Riddell; and a sister, Mary Lee Vinson.

Claudia was a shining light in life, full of humor and a deep love for her friends and family. Her music career spanned many generations and denominations, but her love for making music for the Lord always shone through. She also loved and was skilled in interior design, floral work and jewelry making. Her contributions to the arts and her presence in our lives will be greatly missed.

Two Celebration of Life Services will be held for Claudia: Saturday, August 24, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, visitation, 10 a.m., service, 11 a.m., with a lunch reception to follow. Sunday, September 1, at Ellijay First United Methodist Church in Ellijay, Ga., lunch visitation, 11:30 a.m., service, 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ellijay FUMC Youth Group (checks payable to EFUMC Youth).
