Groundbreaking ceremony held for future high school

KILMARNOCK—With blue skies above and bulldozers in the background, over 100 community members showed up on Thursday, February 29, to welcome the beginning of a new Lancaster High School (LHS) in Kilmarnock.

Before breaking ground, superintendent Jessica Davis addressed the crowd gathered to look towards Lancaster’s educational future. “This community never ceases to amaze me,” she said, citing their generosity and willingness to invest in education. She said the school would be an “innovative space to learn” and a “pillar of pride for the community.”

She also addressed specifically some of this year’s freshman….
