An opening season shutout isn’t how any coach wants to start.
Despite the 5-0 loss to Mathews at Lancaster Monday night, LHS boys soccer coach Rob Pittman says he has confidence in this year’s team.
Lancaster went 6-4-2 during the regular season last year, placing seventh in Region 1A and second in the district.
Pittman lost a lot of leadership and experience in graduated scorers Sheridan Ford and Evan Steensma and some major defense in veteran goal keeper Nathan Spiers. However, he returns nine players and adds a few new talents.
