Naval destroyer christened the USS Harvey C. Barnum Jr.

BATH, ME—With family and dignitaries both military and political looking on, DDG 124 was officially named the USS Harvey C. Barnum Jr. by the ship’s sponsor Martha Hill, who is also the wife of the ship’s namesake.

The event took place on Saturday, July 29, at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine, where the ship has been under construction. The ship, under Commanding Officer Benjamin Cantu, is expected to be commissioned during a ceremony in Norfolk in 2025.
