LANCASTER—Defendant and former Lancaster County deputy Motley Allen Haynie made an appearance in Judge John Martin’s Lancaster General District Court on Wednesday, March 22, for a brief status hearing.
Haynie, of Northumberland County, was charged in February with using a computer to solicit a minor and soliciting prostitution from someone under the age of 16, both felonies.
Given Haynie’s previous dealings with the courts, Stafford County Commonwealth’s Attorney Eric Olsen has been appointed special prosecutor as part of standard procedure. In addition, Judge Martin said Chief Judge of the 15th Judicial District David B. Caddell Jr. would now oversee the case.
Olsen informed Judge Martin that issues related to discovery had been settled and they are ready for the preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for June 7.
