
For the second time in almost 65 years, Historic Garden Week in the Northern Neck was canceled, both last year and this spring due to the circumstances involving COVID-19.
Not to be deterred, the intrepid members of the Garden Club of the Northern Neck (GCNN) decided to carry on this popular event in another form. “We wanted to put lipstick on this cancellation pig and have some fun,” said GCNN member Fran King.
Using plant material largely from their own gardens, members met Tuesday, April 20, outdoors in small groups to create scores of spectacular floral arrangements that were then delivered the next day in appreciation to the property owners of Lancaster County whose properties would have been open for the tour…
