Red Devils golf team tallies two wins

Lancaster High School’s young golf team won its opening two matches against Northern Neck District teams last week.

The Red Devils, led by sophomore Ben Pittman, edged Northumberland by just a stroke in the season opener March 9 at Quinton Oaks Golf Course. Lancaster’s four scorers tallied a team score of 188 on nine holes and the Indians scored 189.

B. Pittman shot a low 39 to lead the Devils, while freshman newcomer Creston Saunders shot a 47. Sophomore Eli Pittman shot a 49 and junior Carter McGee shot a 53.
