Sheriff’s Report 02-20-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

John Wayne Wilmouth, 23, of Lancaster was charged February 12 with two counts of distribution/sell for profit a Schedule I or II narcotic.

Misdemeanors

A White Stone man, 55, was charged February 12 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Kilmarnock man, 55, was charged February 12 with contempt of court, disobeying process, judgement.

A Lancaster woman, 54, was charged February 14 with assault and battery.

Activities

February 10: Staff responded to the 500 block of Ottoman Ferry Road for an attempt to obtain money by fraud, to the 500 block of North Main Street for threats to harm from a family member, to the 1700 block of Laurel Point Road to check the welfare of the resident after being alerted by a family member, and to Buzzards Neck Road for gunshots.

February 11: Staff responded to the 2200 block of Merry Point Road for a suspected prowler.

February 12: Staff responded to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue for a trespasser, to the 2600 block of Merry Point Road for a fire, and to the 1700 block of Laurel Point Road for a trespasser.

February 13: Staff responded to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue for vehicles blocking a private driveway, to the 700 block of Corrotoman Circle for vandalism, to the 1900 block of Iberis Road for vandalism of property, to the 100 block of Harris Drive for an intoxicated disorderly person.

February 14: Staff responded to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another, to Goodluck Road for a minor hit and run traffic crash, to the 300 block of Lawson Bay Road for obtaining money by fraud, to the 100 block of Lancaster Drive for a vehicle in the ditch blocking one lane of traffic, to Regina Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to a walk-in report of an assault.

February 15: Staff responded to the 300 block of Yankee Point Road for gunshots, to the 800 block of Lumberlost Road for a stolen Taurus 9mm handgun, to the 3500 block of Windmill Point Road for a trespasser, to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a verbal disagreement, and to a walk-in report of an assault.

February 16: Staff responded to a walk-in report of domestic abuse.

Staff also conducted 10 traffic stops, issued three summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled six calls for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received six E911 hang-up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Hayden Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash on Harris Road, a fire/smoke alarm on School Street and a traffic crash on Prentice Creek Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Regina Road.

EMS calls

For February 9-15, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 32 calls, including 18 medical emergencies, four injuries, four traffic accidents, two fires and four other calls.
