Sheriffs’ Reports 04-07-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported one misdemeanor charge

A White Stone woman, 40, was charged April 1 with contempt of court: failure to appear.

Activity report

March 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of Pembroke Lane to check the welfare of a resident, to the 200 block of Fox Den Road for a burglary and vandalism of property, to the 200 block of Spencer Lane for vandalism of a residence, and to the 100 block of Bluefish Road for suspicious activity.

March 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Carter Lane for a verbal disagreement, and to the 200 block of Waterview Lane for a burglary.

March 30: Staff responded to the 3900 block of White Chapel Road for a burglary and larceny of a television, to the 1600 block of Windmill Point Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to Mary Ball Road in the Lively area for a reckless driver.

March 31: Staff responded to the 100 block of Greenwood Court for a verbal disagreement.

April 1: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Ocran Road for a suspicious person, to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with the arrest of a wanted person, to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a suspicious person, to the 100 block of Ice House Drive to check the welfare of a resident, to the 300 block of Callis Road for a disorderly person, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle blocking traffic, to a walk-in report of a juvenile behavior issue, and to the 600 block of Crawfords Corner for a wanted person.

April 2: Staff responded to the 200 block of Old Fair Grounds Way to assist KPD with a suspicious person, to the 400 block of North Main Street for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 600 block of Black Stump Road for a civil issue, to King Carter Drive for a noise violation from loud music, and to the 5400 block of Windmill Point Road for property damage from a vehicle crash.

April 3: Staff responded to the 100 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a fight in progress, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for possible vandalism.

Staff also conducted 31 traffic stops, issued 23 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received 23 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a burn ban violation on Mary Ball Road, and to a lift assistance request on Sutherland Street.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a burning smell in a residence on Norwood Street, and a traffic crash on North Main Street.

White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash on Windmill Point Road, a power line fire at Mary Ball and Old Salem roads, and a brush fire on Methodist Church Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 11 individuals.

Felonies

Angle Lynn Fletcher, 41, of Heathsville was charged March 21 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for filing a false welfare application and welfare fraud.

Cesar Mendez-Martinez, 39, of Wicomico Church was charged March 24 with possession of a Schedule I/II drug. He also was charged with assault and battery of a family member and preventing or delaying communication through a wireless device.

Kristi Lynn Noel, 38, of Lancaster was charged March 28 with felony obstruction of justice.

Carl Timothy Rich, 33, of Heathsvllle was charged April 1 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violating his probation and parole by possessing a Schedule I/ II drug. Rich also was charged on a capias to show cause by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for why his suspended sentence should not be revoked. A capias/attachment of the body also was issued for Rich for failing to appear in the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on a charge of brandishing a firearm. Rich was further charged with disregard of a law enforcement command and reckless driving.

Felicia Lashanda Anderson, 30, of White Stone was charged April 1 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by Hampton General District Court for underlying charges of a capias, breaking and entering, possession of cocaine, grand larceny and petit larceny, third-plus offense.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 40, was charged March 22 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear for a petit larceny. He was served by the Richmond City Police Department.

A Heathsville man, 40, was charged March 24 with assault and battery of a family member and reckless handling of a firearm.

A Reedville man, 33, was charged March 28 with violation of a protective order.

A Heathsville man, 54, was charged March 28 with petit larceny and driving on a revoked license, alcohol related. These were Lancaster County warrants served by the NCSO.

A Montross man, 19, was charged March 30 with failing to appear in Richmond County General District Court on a charge of driving suspended. He was served by the NCSO.

A White Stone man, 35, was charged March 30 with driving on a revoked license.
