LANCASTER—The Lancaster board of supervisors on April 29 held additional public hearings as it moves forward with solar ordinances, and approved a special exception.
With the passing of the utility scale solar ordinances, the language for the limited and general agricultural zoning regulations need to be updated to make it an allowable use with a special exception. During the public hearing, Merry Point resident Charlie Costello requested the ordinance also be revised to specify “solar energy storage” versus “solar energy generation.” Scott Foster with Open Road Renewables urged the board to adopt the changes as written.
